Job summary

Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL is seeking an Emergency Department Technician (unlicensed, non-certified) to assist with daily living activities and basic nursing care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse on duty. This full-time night shift (7pm–7am) includes rotating weekends and holidays.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, EMT or CNA certification per state, BLS within 30 days, and knowledge of medical terminology.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current EMT Certification or CNA as required by state.
• BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum six months experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and provide basic nursing care to non-critical patients.

Responsibilities

The Technician in the Emergency Department is an unlicensed non-certified assistive person who assists with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-critical patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Qualifications

• 1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2. Current EMT Certification or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), if required by the State
• 3. Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
