Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL, is seeking an ED Technician to support daily living activities and basic nursing care for non-critical patients. This full-time, night-shift role works under the direction of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team.

Ideal candidates hold an EMT or CNA credential, current BLS, and a basic knowledge of medical terminology. Prior acute care experience is preferred and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current EMT Certification or CNA required by state.
• BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and kept current.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months’ experience in acute care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living for patients.

• Maintain a safe environment under RN supervision.

Responsibilities

The Technician in the Emergency Department is an unlicensed non-certified assistive person who assists with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-critical patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.

2. Current EMT Certification or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), if required by the State

3. Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.

4. Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.

5. Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
