Job summary

The University of Iowa is seeking an Emergency Dept Staff Nurse for the North Liberty campus on a 60-90% mid-shift schedule. This role will assess patients, plan care, and coordinate multidisciplinary treatment in a fast-paced ED.

Qualified applicants will hold an RN license in Iowa with ED or critical care experience. A sign-on bonus up to $10,000 is available; benefits include retirement contributions and paid time off. On-campus employment with shift differentials applies.

Qualifications

• An Associate’s Degree in Nursing or higher is required.
• Iowa license to practice nursing by date of hire.
• Minimum ED or critical care experience with applicable hours/ internships.

Responsibilities

• Applies nursing theory to assessment, treatment and evaluation of patient responses.
• Assesses patient health care preferences and expectations.
• Collaboratively coordinates continuum of care across settings.
• Develops and implements patient care plan based on condition and needs.
• Documents interventions and patient/family response.
• Translates progress into transfer/discharge planning.
• Ensures safety and follows department policies and universal precautions.
