Job summary

UP Health System - Bell is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department to provide high-quality care during 6 x 12-hour night shifts (1845-0715) with alternating weekends. A $7,500 sign-on bonus is available for qualified applicants, and the role emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced ED.

The ED team supports ongoing professional development, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities to advance critical emergency medicine skills across all ages.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan RN license required.
• Associate’s degree in nursing or higher; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• BLS-HCP, ACLS, PALS, TNCC certifications required/within 1 year.
• 1 year Medical/Surgical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient, and family as appropriate.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Coordinates care across disciplines including transfers, discharge, referrals, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Assesses learning needs of patients/families and provides education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Actively advocates for the patient’s physical and emotional well-being.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education

Associate’s degree in nursing

Michigan RN license

BLS-HCP

ACLS (within 1 year)

PALS (within 1 year)

TNCC (within 1 year)

1 year Medical/Surgical experience preferred
