Job summary

UP Health System - Bell, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical/Surgical Unit. This full-time role offers a 0.9 FTE (72 hours per pay period) with a 6 x12-hour night schedule and alternating weekends, in a Critical Access Hospital setting.

You will perform care interventions, document care, monitor patient conditions, assist with daily living activities, coordinate across disciplines, and educate patients and families.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan RN license required.
• ACLS required within 1 year.
• PALS required within 1 year.
• 1 year of Medical/Surgical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patients and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Education

Associate's degree in nursing

Bachelor's degree preferred
