Job summary

YNHHS Westerly Hospital is seeking a dedicated registered nurse to join our Emergency Department. You will perform goaldirected nursing care using the nursing process and primary nursing principles, providing assessment, intervention, and documentation throughout the patient’s ED stay.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, current state RN license, and BLS/ACLS with PALS within 1 year. ED experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • ED experience required.
  • Current state registration or eligibility to do so.
  • BLS, ACLS required; PALS certification must be obtained within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the patient's physical and psychological condition in the ED and document findings.
  • Adhere to Westerly Hospital policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and role model.
  • Participate in training and educational activities for staff.
  • Deliver compassionate, patient- and family-centered care ensuring dignity and respect.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure timely, quality care.
  • Utilize resources efficiently and maintain punctuality.

Responsibilities
  • 1. Essential Functions
    • 1.1 Assesses the patient's physical and psychological condition on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care in the ED. Documents appropriately the information obtained from the ongoing assessment. Shares significant assessment data with the appropriate discipline.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Experience

ED experience required

Licensure
