UPMC Wellsboro is hiring a full-time Emergency Department Patient Services Representative to support patient arrivals, educate on copayments and financial obligations, collect payments, and connect patients with financial advocacy resources. The role requires promoting patient demographics updates, insurance coverage information, and maintaining service excellence.

Formación

• Healthcare experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Reconcile and maintain ED tracking board and ADT system.
• Register patients accurately during system downtime with monitoring for accuracy.
• Serve as central resource for ADT registration and problem resolution during evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Verify insurance eligibility and coordinate benefits for billing.
• Counsel patients on insurance coverage and expected financial liability.
• Collect and record patient payments (copays, coinsurance, deductibles) at time of service.
• Give warm greetings to all patients and families.
• Support UPMC values and policies while performing responsibilities.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Obtain demographic and insurance information, start clinical records, and use biometrics if applicable.
• Ensure proper signatures for consent and financial responsibility.
