Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to assist in the ED under the supervision of an RN or LPN. This part-time role (12 hours per week, days) focuses on delivering compassionate, hands-on care to patients and supporting the clinical team to achieve the highest level of wellness.

No prior experience is required as Mercy offers a 175-hour training program, plus a clear career ladder from PCA to PCT.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• CNA/CPTC certification, enrollment in a healthcare career program through their high school, or current Mercy caregiver preferred

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of an RN or LPN, assists in the individualized care of the patient to achieve the patient's highest level of wellness
• Performs designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks essential to providing care to the patient
• Phlebotomy and blood cultures, Enteral feedings, Wound care, IV/Foley removal, Tracheostomy care and suctioning
