Job summary

North Country Healthcare is seeking an Emergency Department Paramedic to join Weeks Medical Center in Lancaster, NH. You will be part of the ED clinical team, delivering high-quality care and potentially accompanying EMS transfers based on acuity.

Requires Paramedic program completion, NH EMS Paramedic license, NRP and MOAB within one year, and BLS/ACLS/PALS/PHTLS with ongoing education. Two years of paramedic experience is preferred; hospital experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Paramedic Program.
• NRP Certification required, must be obtained within one year of employment.
• Current licensure as a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic.
• Current licensure as an Emergency Medical Care Provider in NH.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS and PHTLS certifications; critical care course within two years.
• Association-accredited course in BLS or Heartsaver CPR AED, renewal with up to three-month grace period.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical competence and excellence per standards of practice.
• Accepts responsibility for clinical practice as a Paramedic in the ED.
• Identify and report risk management situations; complete occurrence reports.
• Assist in treatments, procedures and pharmacology within scope.
• Triage, interpret rhythm strips, review tests, and report findings.
• Coordinate care with ED team and physicians; document thoroughly.
• Input orders and manage tests; transport patients as needed.
• Maintain infection control practices and code/rapid response participation.
• Adhere to medication safety and barcode procedures.
