Job summary

Weeks Medical Center in Lancaster, NH seeks an experienced Emergency Department Paramedic to join the clinical team. You will provide high-quality care, triage patients, administer medications, and coordinate care with ED physicians and nurses throughout the ED and during transfers as needed.

The role requires NH EMS protocol adherence, state paramedic licensure, and national certification. Two years of paramedic experience and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Paramedic Program.
• NRP Certification required, must be obtained within one year of employment.
• MOAB required within one year.
• Current licensure as a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic.
• Current licensure as an Emergency Medical Care Provider in the State of New Hampshire.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS and PHTLS certifications required prior to employment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or Heartsaver CPR AED with renewal; grace period up to 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical competence and excellence in practice as a Paramedic in the ED.
• Accepts responsibility for clinical practice in the ED and adherence to NH EMS Protocols.
• Identify and report risk management issues; complete occurrences reports.
• Recommend products and cost-saving measures to EMS Coordinator and Department Manager.
• Assess EMS and ED patients, triage using ESI and notify ED staff of findings.
• Interpret rhythm strips and report findings to the ED physician.
• Coordinate the in-hospital interdisciplinary plan of care with ED staff and physician.
• Administer medications per formulary/policy and monitor effects.
• Assist physician and other providers in treatments and procedures as allowed.
• Update treatment plans in collaboration with in-hospital teams and patient/family.
