Job summary

Grady Health System in Atlanta seeks an Interpreter Advocate to support language access for diverse patients across the Emergency Department and hospital. The role will interpret in accordance with national standards, promote patient rights, and help resolve concerns to improve quality of care.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent healthcare experience, several years of interpretation and advocacy exposure, and a proactive approach to customer service within a fast-paced ED

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent healthcare-related experience.
• Experience in advocacy and interpretation in clinical settings is preferred.
• Ability to interpret in telephonic, video or in-person formats as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement language interpreter services for English and limited-English-proficient patients.
• Investigate, resolve and document patient complaints and compliments.
• Coordinate language services across the Emergency Department and hospital staff.
• Provide accurate medical interpretation aligned with professional standards and ethics.
• Document interpretation sessions and maintain patient confidentiality.
