Job summary

Intermountain Health Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, CO seeks an experienced Emergency Department Float Pool RN to support rapid assessments and care across units. You will collaborate with emergency medicine teams to deliver timely, evidence-based care in a high-acuity environment.

The role requires a BSN, active RN license, BLS, and at least 1 year of RN experience. This full-time position offers a 36-hour work week with a 10% float differential and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of practice; compact license transfers within 60 days.
• Minimum one year of RN experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; degree will be verified.
• RNs with <12 months experience must obtain BSN within four years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care in fast-paced emergency care environments.
• Perform rapid patient assessments, prioritize care, and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Recognize and respond quickly to changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, technicians, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide care to patients with a wide range of illnesses, injuries, and emergency conditions.
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures per policies and standards.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
• Adapt quickly to varying workflows, patient volumes, and acuity levels while maintaining quality and safety.
