Job summary

Essential Scribe is hiring Medical Scribes to work side-by-side with healthcare providers in the ED, documenting patient visits into the electronic medical record. This paid position offers paid training and a strong foundation in medical terminology and clinical information through on-the-job exposure.

No prior experience is required; Essential Scribe’s training program is thorough and supportive, with mentors and ongoing continuing education to help you grow in your healthcare career.

Qualifications

• College degree or current enrollment in a 2-4 year program.
• Minimum of 2-4 shifts a week.
• Ability to multi-task and clearly communicate.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Minimum typing speed of 65 WPM.
• Comfortable with computers.

Responsibilities

• Document patient visits in the EMR alongside providers.
• Shadow ED healthcare teams documenting clinical encounters.
• Assist in maintaining accurate medical records and documentation.
• Support physicians and clinicians as a right-hand partner.
