Job summary

Baptist Health - Central Alabama is seeking an Emergency Department Advanced Nursing Extern. The extern provides patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, supporting the Nursing department with technical tasks, data collection, and lab specimen handling.

Duties extend to scope of practice of unlicensed providers under licensed nurse supervision. Required: high school diploma or equivalent, enrollment in an accredited nursing program, and completion of Fundamentals of Nursing Care,

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
• Must have completed Fundamentals of Nursing Care, Pharmacology, and Medication Administration.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse within the scope of practice for unlicensed providers.
• Support Nursing department with selected technical skills, data collection, and lab specimen collection.
• May have additional duties within scope of the role.
