Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking an Advanced Nursing Extern to provide patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. This extern assists with data collection, lab specimen handling, and selected technical tasks under supervision, within the Alabama Board of Nursing scope of practice.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, current enrollment in an accredited nursing program, and completion of Fundamentals of Nursing Care, Pharmacology, and Medication Administration, plus BLS

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
• Must have completed Fundamentals of Nursing Care, Pharmacology, and Medication Administration.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Support Nursing department with data collection and selected technical tasks.
• Collect lab specimens and perform duties within scope of unlicensed providers under supervision.
