Job summary

Capgemini Engineering in Irvine, CA is seeking an Associate Electronics & Semiconductor Technician to join the Automotive Engineering team. The role focuses on hands-on bench testing, ECU validation, and troubleshooting Infotainment and Telematics systems.

You will set up test benches, develop functional test cases, validate ECU features, and collaborate with Hardware, Software, System Engineering, and QA teams to ensure high-quality automotive electronics.

Qualifications

• Hands-on electronics bench testing experience in automotive or similar environment.
• Experience with ECU testing and validation.
• Knowledge of Infotainment and Telematics systems.
• Familiarity with automotive protocols CAN/LIN/Ethernet.
• Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with HiL test benches or similar setups.

Responsibilities

• Perform bench-level testing and validation of Infotainment and Telematics ECUs.
• Set up and maintain test benches, validation environments, and lab equipment.
• Develop, execute, and document functional test cases from system requirements.
• Validate Infotainment features (audio, multimedia, connectivity, navigation, UI).
• Perform Telematics testing including network connectivity and vehicle comms.
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and track issues to closure.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues using diagnostic tools.
• Conduct electrical measurements, signal analysis, and fault isolation.
• Read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
