Job summary

Capgemini in Irvine, CA is seeking an Infotainment & Telematics ECU Test Engineer to join our Automotive Engineering team. You will perform bench-level testing, validate ECU features, and collaborate across Hardware, Software, and QA teams.

The role covers testing infotainment audio, connectivity, navigation, Telematics networking, and ECU flashing. You will read schematics, operate test benches, and document results to ensure high-quality automotive electronics.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in electronics bench testing and ECU testing.
• Good understanding of Infotainment and Telematics systems.
• Knowledge of automotive protocols CAN, LIN, Ethernet.
• Experience using test instruments (multimeter, oscilloscope, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Basic knowledge of ECU flashing/diagnostics tools.
• Familiarity with electronics fundamentals (Ohm's Law, voltage, current, resistance).
• Exposure to HiL testing or test benches.
• Experience with Infotainment UI/UX testing and connectivity features.

Responsibilities

• Perform bench-level testing and validation of Infotainment and Telematics ECUs.
• Set up and maintain test benches, validation environments, and equipment.
• Develop and document functional test cases from system requirements.
• Validate infotainment features: audio, multimedia, connectivity, navigation, UI.
• Test Telematics: network connectivity, modules, vehicle communication systems.
• Analyze results, identify defects, and track issues to closure.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues with diagnostic tools.
• Support ECU flashing, software updates, and configuration.
• Prepare reports and ensure compliance with quality standards.
