Job summary

Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS) seeks a full-time TA 2 – ECSE for our Early Learning Hub in St. Paul, MN. The role supports students with special needs, implements IEP/504/BIP plans, and collaborates with teachers to foster inclusive classrooms.

Expect data collection on IEP objectives and assisting in building functional skills across environments. Position requires physical ability to lift and assist with activities, training in NVCI, and commitment to equity in student outcomes.

Qualifications

• AA/AS/AAS degree or higher or 60/90 credits toward bachelor’s degree.
• Passing score on ParaPro or Paraeducator Assessment plus high school diploma or GED.
• Basic reading, writing and math skills are required.
• Ability to communicate with students and staff as needed (including IEP contexts).
• Familiarity with using iPads, computers, and typing.
• Commitment to equity and respectful interactions with all students.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing IEP, 504, BIP and sensory plans.
• Support inclusion of students with disabilities in general education.
• Record data on IEP objectives and BIPs for monitoring progress.
• Help students develop functional skills (feeding, dressing, toileting, self-help).
• Support teachers with individual students in communications and behavior management.
• Move around classrooms and school environments to meet diverse needs.
• Assist with field trips and bus safety as required.
• Follow de-escalation strategies and NVCI training when needed.
