Job summary

BARRINGTON COMMUNITY UNIT SCHOOL DISTRICT 220 in Barrington, IL seeks a Long Term Substitute Early Childhood Special Education Teacher at Barrington Early Learning Center. The teacher will provide specialized instruction, evaluate progress, and serve as IEP Case Manager for students with disabilities.

The position requires a PEL with Early Childhood endorsement and Early Childhood Special Education approval; ESL endorsement is preferred. Collaboration with families and professionals is essential.

Qualifications

• Current knowledge of special education laws, rules, and regulations, as well as District policies and procedures.
• Exceptional ability to collaborate with students, parents, and other professionals.
• Ability to apply procedural requirements, including due process timelines.

Responsibilities

• Provides research-based, specialized early childhood instruction to address IEP goals.
• Assesses student progress and adjusts instructional techniques as needed.
• Develops and implements annual IEP plans with present levels and required services.
• Coordinat es delivery of special education services per each student’s IEP.
• Serves as primary contact for parents and schedules team meetings.
• Participates in evaluations and reevaluations for students on caseload.
• Maintains a constructive classroom climate and supports student behavior.
• Supervises students and supports paraprofessional staff as needed.
• Communicates regularly with families via email, calls, or meetings.
