Job summary

Independent School District No 622, North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale, is seeking a Special Education Teacher for ECSE. The role covers direct instruction, IEP development, and collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team to support students with disabilities.

You will manage eligibility decisions, coordinate with families, and implement state and district assessments while maintaining confidentiality and professional standards in line with the district's policies.

Qualifications

• Valid MN teaching license in a special education field.
• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Experience teaching school-age students.
• Ability to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team.
• Knowledge of due process procedures.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience with conflict resolution.
• Training in behavior management and crisis response.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to due process guidelines and participate in eligibility decisions.
• Serve as case manager: develop and maintain IEPs, facilitate meetings, share progress reports.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal rules and data privacy laws.
• Provide direct instruction and support for students to achieve IEP goals.
• Collaborate with general education teachers on curriculum and assessments.
• Supervise paraprofessionals and monitor student progress with regular updates to families.
• Advocate for students with disabilities and implement positive behavioral interventions.
