Job summary

Intermediate School District 917 is seeking an Education Support Professional for the Special Education ECSE TEA program at Pine Bend Elementary in Inver Grove Heights, MN. The role supports students with IEP goals, working closely with teachers, speech and OT staff, and other professionals.

The ESP will assist with instruction, adapt materials for differentiated learning, and participate in data collection and behavioral interventions. Work days are Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m.

Qualifications

• Two years of college credits (60 credits) or an Associate's degree or ParaPro passing score.
• Experience with students with special needs and related teaching practices.
• Ability to work in a team with staff, parents, and the community.
• Willingness to complete Professional Crisis Management training.
• Ability to obtain PCA certification.
• Good oral, written, and interpersonal communication.
• Ability to work with assistive technology.
• Basic computer and email skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher with instruction and student programming.
• Adapt instructional materials, equipment, or strategies for differentiated instruction.
• Implement charting, data collection, and monitoring to track student progress.
• Assist licensed staff with classroom management and behavioral interventions.
• Use proactive behavior management and de-escalation as needed.
• Escort students to classes and supervise in school areas.
• Facilitate activities with students individually or in small groups.
• Help students develop social skills and appropriate behaviors.
• Maintain student safety and a positive learning environment.
• Collaborate with service personnel and staff to meet student needs.
• Participate in training/in-service as assigned.
• Perform other duties as needed.
