Role Description

The Economics Instructor is a full-time, on-site role based in Booneville, MS. This position is responsible for teaching undergraduate economics courses, including principles of economics and business economics, using engaging and effective instructional methods. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing lesson plans and course materials, delivering lectures and facilitating classroom discussions, assessing student performance, and providing timely feedback. The instructor will hold regular office hours, advise students on academic progress, and contribute to curriculum development and program improvement. Additional responsibilities may include participation in departmental meetings, campus committees, and college activities that support student success and institutional goals.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Economics and Business Economics, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and accessibly.
• Demonstrated skills in Teaching and Education, including effective classroom management and student-centered instructional practices.
• Proficiency in Lesson Planning, course design, and the use of appropriate assessments to measure learning outcomes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate a diverse student population.
• Master’s degree or higher with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in any combination of closely related field from an accredited institution (doctoral degree preferred).
• Related Fields include: Accounting, Business, Business Admin, Economics, Finance, Human Resources, Management, or Marketing
• Ability to integrate technology into instruction, including learning management systems and digital resources.
