Job summary

PEC in Atlanta, GA seeks an experienced Economics instructor to deliver undergraduate and graduate courses. You will prepare materials, outline expectations, and assign real-world assignments demonstrating learning outcomes.

Responsibilities include assessments, timely responses to student queries, supporting at-risk students, and maintaining program outcomes while ensuring lab safety and compliance with accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• Possesses a minimum of two (2) years of experience in the subject field in which they teach to instruct undergraduate courses; five (5) years of experience to instruct graduate courses.
• Candidate must have obtained a conferred Doctorate in Economics or a closely related discipline from an institution regionally accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (or international equivalent).
• Selected candidates will also be required to complete a satisfactory background check.
• Candidate will be required to submit a resume and/or curriculum vitae and copies of unofficial transcripts (graduate/doctoral degree levels)

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses
• Adequately prepare all course materials and lessons
• Provide clear course expectations, evaluations and timelines through outlines and syllabus
• Provide interesting and relevant assignments demonstrating learning outcomes in real-life settings
• Challenge and engage students while maintaining mutual respect
• Complete assessments, grade books, and final grade sheets
• Respond to student questions within 48 hours
• Identify and refer at-risk students to academic support services
• Ensure course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the syllabus
• Ensure safety and sanitation of labs, equipment and supplies where applicable
• Post and maintain office and classroom schedules
• Support program, campus, and university retention activities
• Attend professional development activities and complete required training
• Maintain credentials as required by accrediting bodies
