Job summary

CSIS seeks a Fall research intern for the Economics Program to support research on international trade, economics, and policy. The candidate should have coursework in international trade and a strong background in economics, with good research and writing skills.

The role is full- or part-time, in-person in Washington, DC, through December 2026, and paid. Ideal candidates are undergraduates, graduates, or recent graduates with econometric and data-science capabilities, able to contribute to

Qualifications

Advanced econometric and data science skills.
Strong English-language writing and research skills.
Detail-oriented under pressure.
Able to work independently within a small team.

Responsibilities

Work with the Economics Program team on ongoing and future projects, including analysis of supply chains, trade and global economics.
Conduct research and assist with writing reports, quantitative data analysis, and other research products.
Establish and maintain strong working relationships within CSIS and with external partners.
Identify, attend, and take notes on virtual internal and external events relevant to the Economics Program.
Assist on ad hoc projects as directed by program staff.
