Job summary

The Peterson Institute for International Economics in Washington, DC is seeking a full-time Research Analyst to support senior fellows on research related to international trade law and policy. You will monitor US trade policy developments and contribute to data-driven analyses and publications.

You will prepare summaries, help build analytical databases, and assist with outreach to policymakers. A background in economics or related social science, plus coding in R or Stata, is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in economics, political science, public policy, or related social science; economics coursework.
• Master's degree or post-graduate research experience preferred.
• Strong interest in international trade and North American integration; familiarity with US agencies and international institutions a plus.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Finalists will complete a coding assessment from QC team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct empirical analyses on international trade policy with senior fellows.
• Review major US trade policy announcements and compile data.
• Provide research and programmatic support for outreach to policymakers.
• Review laws and documents to support analytical databases and papers.
• Draft summaries and methodology notes for working papers and blogs.
• Address questions from internal and external reviewers on research papers.
