Job summary

Goodwill in San Diego is seeking a Supervisory Operations role to assist the management team in daily operations, scheduling, payroll, and ensuring production and quality standards are met. The position emphasizes leading staff, coordinating training, and maintaining compliance with company policies.

The role requires BA/BS preference, at least 1 year supervisory experience, and a CA driver’s license with a valid insured vehicle. Work schedule is five days per week, including weekends.

Qualifications

• CA Driver's License and driving record acceptable by insurer; insured vehicle required.

Responsibilities

• Assist management in creating productive team environment and achieving department goals.
• Lead team huddles, assign and communicate daily tasks and trainings.
• Monitor performance and quality; take corrective actions as needed.
• Oversee time and attendance of staff; ensure policies followed.
• Ensure staff follow GISD policies and procedures; escalate issues.
• Maintain clean, safe, and well-maintained work area; report concerns promptly.
• Meet deadlines for performance evaluations, goal setting, and schedules.
• Address customer inquiries per department guidelines.
• Train new hires to meet department expectations.
• Open and close locations as required; perform other duties.

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting the management team in the daily operations of the department including scheduling, payroll, ensuring production/quality is maintained and that policies/procedures are followed.

Essential Functions Statements:

• Assists management in creating an environment where transformational leadership is applied. Assists in engaging, motivating and developing staff to increase productivity and achieve departmental goals.
• Oversees preparation and daily communication of assignments and other information the team. Leads team huddles, exercises, and trainings according to management direction.
• Monitors and reports on performance goals and work quality of direct reports. Takes appropriate action when expectations are not met according to management direction.
• Monitors the time and attendance of direct reports. Takes appropriate action when expectations are not met according to management direction.
• Ensures that behavior/conduct of direct reports meets company standards. Takes appropriate action when expectations are not met according to management direction.
• Ensures that direct reports follow GISD policy and procedures. Takes appropriate actions when expectations are not met according to management direction.
• Monitors the work environment to ensure it is supplied, safe, clean, organized, and wellmaintained. Reports any concerns or issues in a prompt and timely manner to management.
• Meets deadlines in preparing drafts of performance evaluations, 5-minute goal setting conversations, work schedules, and other department paperwork/documentation.
• Resolves issues that arise from production/processing errors and identifies areas for continuous improvement and training.
• Addresses a variety of customer inquiries according to department guidelines.
• Ensures new hires are thoroughly trained and able to meet department expectations.
• Able to perform work activities of subordinates at a high level of production and quality.
• Opens and closes location(s) according to department guidelines.
• Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Education: BA or BS preferred

Experience: Minimum of 1 year related supervisory experience..

Certificates & Licenses: Must have a CA Driver's License and driving record acceptable to Goodwill's insurance company requirements. Must also have an insured, reliable vehicle.

Work Schedule: 5 days per week including weekends
