Job summary

Goodwill Industries of the Valleys is seeking a store supervisor to lead the sales floor and production areas for donated merchandise.

You will oversee daily operations, resolve customer inquiries, manage cash reconciliation, and train team members while ensuring a clean, safe retail environment and achievement of productivity goals.

Strong leadership, excellent communication, and basic math skills are essential, along with a High School diploma or GED or equivalent supervisory experience.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to perform basic math skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and customer service.
  • High school, GED, 6 months supervisory experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises all aspects of the sales floor engaged in selling donated items.
  • Resolve customer complaints or inquiries appropriately and provide notification to the Store Manager.
  • Reconciles cash registers at the end of the day.
  • Oversees quality and quantity of goods going to the sales floor to maintain a full inventory.
  • Review sales and product levels in each department to identify areas of opportunity.
  • Supervises all aspects of the production area engaged in receiving and processing of donated merchandise.
  • Keeps informed of product knowledge, industry trends, and competitive pricing through comparative shopping of competitors.
  • Appraise and price merchandise with the intention of receiving the maximum monetary value.
  • Properly submit nightly service request to notify logistics department of product needs.
  • Ensure all daily productivity goals are met in all commodities and report deficiencies to the Store Manager.
  • Provides input to the store manager regarding employee performance and assist with training team members.
  • Support a teamwork environment driving team members through motivation and positive motivation. Perform work of team members as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment ensuring that all areas are clean and productive following Goodwill's policies and procedures.
  • Insures timely and correct submission of incident/accidents reports to the appropriate department.
  • Opens and closes the retail store on time and in a safe manner for all opening and closing staff.
  • Attends management team meetings as required and completes all training required in a timely manner.
  • Ensure WESA reports are completed in a timely manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
