Job summary

Rugs USA seeks an Accounts Receivable Specialist to record and reconcile revenue across e-commerce channels. You will manage AR, apply payments, and support month-end close in a hybrid Manhattan office 3–4 days per week.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in AR/e-commerce accounting, strong Excel, and solid knowledge of GAAP/ASC 606. Collaboration with Accounting, Sales, Customer Service, and Supply Chain is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in accounts receivable or ecommerce accounting.
• Direct experience reconciling marketplace transactions.
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Experience with high-volume cash application, reconciliation, deductions, and collections.
• Strong understanding of journal entries, GL accounts, balance-sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel: pivot tables, lookups, conditional formulas, large-data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned customer accounts and maintain AR records.
• Support customer account setup, credit review, billing, and master-data accuracy.
• Apply cash receipts, marketplace settlements, ACH, wires, and card payments.
• Research and reconcile unapplied cash, short/overpayments, and variances.
• Review AR aging and follow up on past-due balances.
• Contact customers about invoices, payment status, and disputes.
• Process credit/debit memos, refunds, write-offs, and adjustments.
• Post revenue-related journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare weekly/monthly collection and aging reports.
• Ensure revenue transactions comply with internal controls.
