Job summary

Apple seeks an Applications Support Engineer to manage non-production software releases, bridging engineering, QA/UAT, and DevOps to ensure test environments are stable and ready for go-live. You will triage incidents, implement proactive monitoring, and drive automation initiatives to improve efficiency.

The role requires strong debugging skills in Java/Scala, experience with Splunk and AWS, and a background in enterprise ITSM incident/change management.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering in development, application support, DevOps/SRE, including incident, change and problem management using an enterprise ITSM tool.
• Proficiency in Java, Scala, or other object-oriented programming languages for independent debugging and technical analysis.
• Hands-on experience with Splunk or other monitoring/observability tools, and working experience with RDBMS and PL/SQL.

Responsibilities

• Triage critical system issues and coordinate rapid service restoration.
• Deploy proactive monitoring and coordinate cross-functional stakeholders under pressure.
• Partner with DevOps, QA/UAT to ensure stable test environments and consistent deployments.
• Identify changes to environment data values and monitoring needs; implement alerts.
• Diagnose configuration errors, database connection issues, and deployment failures; perform root cause analysis.
• Create and maintain support documentation and evolve standard practices.
