Job summary

Babilou Family US is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support Certified Teachers in creating safe, nurturing classrooms that emphasize sustainable education. You will help implement learning experiences, maintain eco-friendly routines, and foster strong partnerships with children, families, and colleagues.

The role requires collaboration with the teaching team, commitment to ongoing professional development, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with young children in childcare/educational setting.
• Knowledge of child development and classroom safety standards.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow lesson plans and support the Certified Teacher.
• Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Experience integrating sustainability or eco-conscious practices preferred.
• Specialized training in early learning curriculum or child assessment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Certified Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and learning experiences.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and environmentally responsible classroom.
• Supervise children during activities and transitions; promote exploration of nature.
• Report safety concerns and follow mandated reporting requirements.
• Greet families and support sustainable communication with families.
• Attend required trainings and collaborate to enhance classroom systems.
