Job summary

Luminis Health seeks an Echocardiography Technologist II to perform echocardiographic studies and report findings to support accurate diagnostics. Leadership will determine seniority level (Tech I or II) at hiring. The role emphasizes patient comfort, artifact recognition, and timely data reporting.

Responsibilities include image processing, data entry for charges and scheduling, and upholding radiation safety standards while providing compassionate care to patients and families across settings.

Qualifications

• High School graduate with specialized echocardiography training.
• Three years’ echocardiography experience, including adult and pediatric studies, TEE, and stress echo.
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within 90 days; ARDMS/RCS credentials.

Responsibilities

• Perform echocardiograms in all areas including the emergency room.
• Explain procedures to patients to ensure comfort and accuracy.
• Recognize artifacts and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
• Process images and related data per department policies.
• Maintain radiation safety and ensure compliance by staff and students.
• Obtain clinical data and report outcomes in a timely manner.
• Provide care to patients and families in a culturally appropriate manner.

Job description

Echocardiography Technologist II

Performsechocardiographic procedures, using specialized equipment, to measure, calculate, and report pertinent patient data facilitating accurate diagnostic outcome. Echo tech 1 or 2 will be determined by the leadership upon hiring.

1. ConductsEchocardiograms as requested throughout the Medical Center, including all patient rooms and emergency room.
2. Explains procedure to patients, providing instructions and direct care to ensure accuracy and patient comfort.
3. Recognizes artifacts, eliminates probable sources and troubleshoots minor equipment problems.
4. Consistently meets department standards for RVU's while maintain quality work.
5. Processes images acquired from different modalities according to establish policies and procedures.
6. Performs data entry as it relates to procedures including charges pick lists, logbook, and schedule related functions to ensure corporate compliance
7. Practices radiation safety and ensures that other staff and students are compliant.
8. Obtains pertinent clinical data adequately as it relates to procedures performed.
9. Analyzes, processes, and reports outcomes in a timely manner.
10. Provides care to patients and families in a developmentally, culturally, and ethically appropriate manner.

• High School graduate or equivalent with specialized training inEchocardiography.
• Ability to perform, measure, and preliminary interpretechostudies.
• Three (3) years’ experience inEchocardiography with a minimum of two years’ experience performing adult and pediatricechocardiograms, TEE's, and stressechocardiograms.

• Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS CPR certification or must obtain within 90-days from date of hire.
• Registered Echo Sonographer (RCVT, RDCS, or RDCF) with the ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) with CCI
