At the direction of the Medical Director and Manager of Cardiopulmonary Services, performs and documents all adult echocardiograms to include 2-D Echo, Continuous Wave Doppler, Pulsed Wave Doppler, Color Doppler, Stress Echo, Dobutamine Stress Echo, and assists with Transesophegael Echo. Works with quality inventory control, shares responsibility for the daily function of the echo department.
Included in the job duties is responsibility for preparing patients and diagnostic equipment for imaging procedures and explanation of procedures to patients and assistance of the LRH Cardiologists with interpretation the data from the images and determination of which images should be saved and which should be discarded. Echo Tech is also responsible for ensuring that records are kept properly.

Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) with CCI or within one year of eligibility. Must have at least 3 years experience performing echocardiograms. Experience with intravenous access preferred, or to be obtained within 90 days of employment. BCLS certification required, ACLS certification recommended.
