Job summary

Veterans Health Administration in the Indianapolis area seeks a Medical Instrument Technician (Echocardiography) to perform transthoracic echocardiograms and high-level cardiovascular testing in coordination with cardiology physicians.

The role involves imaging 2D/3D, Doppler, and M-mode studies, operating diagnostic equipment, and maintaining instruments in compliance with SOPs. Extensive travel (75%) and a 7:30am–4:00pm schedule with potential compressed/flexible arrangements are included.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform transthoracic echocardiograms.
• Knowledge of cardiac anatomy and ultrasound physics.
• Excellent patient communication and teamwork.
• Experience operating diagnostic ultrasound equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-level cardiovascular testing with cardiology physicians.
• Acquire 2D/3D, Doppler, and M-mode images of the heart.
• Set up, reprocess, and maintain ultrasound equipment per SOP.
• Coordinate with biomedical engineering for equipment maintenance.
• Transfer diagnostic images to the reporting server; generate reports.
