Qualifications

• The incumbent performs high level cardiovascular testing with cardiology physicians and performs transthoracic echocardiograms.
• Fluency in use and operation of diagnostic equipment to provide imaging of 2D/3D, Doppler, M-mode heart structures.
• Communicates effectively with patients and staff to assist procedures in cardiac care.

Responsibilities

• Performs high level cardiovascular testing with cardiology physicians and transthoracic echocardiograms.
• Uses ultrasound physics and cardiac sonography knowledge to image the heart.
• Maintains equipment and ensures proper cleaning and reprocessing per SOPs.
• Transfers diagnostic images to the reporting server for inpatient/outpatient exams.
• May require 75% travel and valid driving license; will use VistA in the medical center system.
