Job summary

MaineGeneral Medical Center seeks an experienced Cardiac Sonographer for per diem, part-time coverage in Augusta and Waterville, ME. The ideal candidate is ARDMS RDCS or CCI RCS certified, with hospital experience preferred, and proficient in EMR systems.

You will review orders, educate patients, operate ultrasound equipment, and ensure high-quality imaging while maintaining patient safety and comfort.

If you have a passion for service excellence...we want to hear from you!## **Job Description:****The Work:*** Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.* When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports changes in status as appropriate.* Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.* Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. Enters, transmits and reports scan results.**You Have:*** Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDCS) from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) Required within one year from the date of graduation from a cardiac ultrasound program* Have 1 or more year of previous experience in a hospital setting preferred* Have solid computer skills including prior use of EMR (electronic medical records)* Be detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.## **Scheduled Weekly Hours:**0## **Work Shift:**## **Job Exempt:**No## **Benefits:**Supporting all aspects of our employees’ wellness – physical, emotional and financial – is a critical component of being a great place to work.
