Responsible for the safety, mental and physical comfort of the patient**Compensation Pay Range:**$42.42 - $57.09**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS****1 - Performs complete study including M-MODE, REAL TIME, COLOR FLOW MAPPING and DOPPLER.**a - Acquires all necessary images and measurements according to lab protocols b - Interprets all techniques giving internal dimensions, wall motion and flow pattern analysis. c - Quantitative abnormal valve areas calculating gradients.**2 -** **Obtains permanent records of examination.** a - Looks up patient information and previous echo exams in the patient's electronic medical records system b - Completes exam documentation and billing info in the patient's electronic medical records**3** - **Contributes professional knowledge to final diagnostic impression or report.** a - Writes preliminary interpretation for physician review. b - Informs physician during reading session of any non-conventional views taken.**4** - **Stores daily examinations performed.** a - Ensures that all studies download correctly to GE server.**5** - **Technology – Embraces technological solutions to work processes and practices.** a - Able to utilize GE reading station including burning CD, downloading casesb - Able to utilize Epic (Electronic medical records)c - Able to utilize the electronic method of calling down inpatients in a timely and efficient manner.**6** - **Safety Awareness – Fosters a “Culture of Safety” through personal ownership and commitment to a safe environment.** a - Practices MD notification of "red values" as described in policy.**JOB REQUIREMENTS****Minimum Education**At least a (2) two year Echocardiography accredited program including technical and clinical training culminating in an associate degree or higher.**Minimum Work Experience**At least (1) one to (2) two years experience preferred**Required Certifications**RDCS - Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)) **or**RCS - Registered Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)**Required Classes/Skills**BLS - Basic Life Support (within 180 days after start date)ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (within 180 days after start date)**Required additional Knowledge and Abilities**Ability to demonstrate competency in echocardiography.Must be able to recognize abnormal structure and be able to correlate this information into a useful study.Must be able to deviate from normal techniques, when necessary, to develop new techniques.Must be able to utilize ancillary devices, i.e., selected transducersPer diem, as needed**Responsibilities if Required:****Education if Required:****License/Registration/Certification Requirements:**ACLS (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) (Including courses offered through SSH), Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) (Including courses offered through SSH), INSTRUCTOR- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) (Including courses offered through SSH), INSTRUCTOR- Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) (Including courses offered through SSH), Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
