Job summary

Sentara Health seeks an Echocardiography technologist to perform Echo, Stress Echo, TEE and Doppler studies. The role spans multiple units including Cardiac Non-Invasive Lab, EP and Cath Lab, OR and ICU, with bedside patient care.

You will complete reports in the structured report system and work with diverse teams to evaluate heart disease and blood flow abnormalities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of accredited echocardiography program per IAC guidelines required.

Responsibilities

• Perform two-dimensional and Doppler echocardiograms, and pharmacologic stress echo.
• Perform transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE).
• Work across Cardiac Non-Invasive Lab, EP, Cath Lab, OR, ICU and bedside with patients.
• Complete technologist reports in the structured report system.

Overview

Unit has 5 rooms for Echos. Echocardiographer will perform Echo and Stress Echo tests, Transesophageal (TEE) Echocardiogram, and Doppler ultrasound. Echocardiographer will work in Cardiac Non-Invasive Lab, EP and Cath Lab, OR, ICU and will also work with patients at the bedside.

Performs two-dimensional echocardiograms, Doppler echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms and pharmacological stress echocardiograms to evaluate heart and vessel abnormalities for the evaluation of heart disease and blood flow abnormalities. Completes the technologist report in the structured report application.

Education

• High School Grad or Equivalent (required)
• Graduate of an accredited echocardiography program (or equivalent education) in accordance with IAC Guidelines (required)

Certification/Licensure

• Adult echocardiography registry (RCCS or RCS or RDCS) required within 12 months of hire.
• BLS (Required within 90 days)
• ACLS (Required within 90 days)

Experience

• Echocardiographer experience is highly preferred

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $42.23 - $62.80 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
