Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking an Echo/Vascular Technician to perform ultrasound exams and support our clinical team at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver. You will educate patients, coordinate exams, and ensure safety and quality in imaging procedures.

The role requires ARDMS/CCI certifications, BLS, and progressive experience in echocardiography or vascular sonography. A strong commitment to patient care and teamwork is essential for success in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications Echo Technologist IARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
• Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified
• 1+ year of experience
• Minimum qualifications Echo Technologist IIARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography
• Must achieve each of the following areas: Certification/Registry Obtain any two of the national registry credential(s) through ARDMS, CCI, or ACS as applicable to the department: vascular technology, RPHS, TCD, adult echo, adult congenital echo
• Must have documented Echo Medical Director review of a minimum of 5 studies in addition to supervisory skills pass off of a minimum of 20 studies
• External applicants must complete within 3 months of hire
• Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified
• Minimum Qualifications Echo Technologist III ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography
• Must achieve each of the following areas: Certification/Registry Obtain any three of the national registry credential(s) through ARDMS, CCI, or ASN as applicable to the department or years of service. A minimum of one registry and years of service: 15+ years or 10+ years with bachelor’s/master’s degree
• Competency (Documented supervisory skills pass off required for one or more of the following) multiple advanced competencies including adult congenital, pediatric, structural heart interventions, cath lab/OR, vascular competencies

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound exams and coordinate with the medical team to ensure timely, high-quality imaging
• Prepare patients, educate them about procedures, and ensure safety and comfort during exams
• Document results and apply appropriate charge codes for exams and supplies
• Mentor caregivers and students on equipment use and techniques
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and cleanliness; support quality improvement initiatives
• Provide education for caregivers, fellows, and students as appropriate
• Communicate patient needs and coordinate care with physicians and families
