Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking an Echo Tech to perform diagnostic cardiac exams under physician direction, primarily at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital, with rotations to a cardiology clinic. The role requires ARDMS/CCI certification, BLS, and a Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Four 10-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a rotating day off and on-call duties. Responsibilities include coordinating exams, educating patients, documenting results, and supporting quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
• Bachelor’s Degree. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical competence for department protocols.
• Prioritize and schedule exams.
• Coordinate exams with medical staff, physician offices, other caregivers and patients.
• Educate patient and family on procedure; transport patient.
• Perform ultrasound exams per related protocols in a timely manner.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort; achieve quality outcomes.
• Communicate patient needs to physicians and caregivers throughout the exam.
• Return patient to room and ensure stability after exam.
• Mentor caregivers and students on equipment use and technique.
• Document exam results and required information.
• Apply appropriate charge codes for exams and supplies.
• Clean and maintain equipment, work area, and supplies.
• Coordinate repair or supply needs through proper channels.
• Support quality improvement processes and initiatives.
• Participate in educational opportunities to ensure clinical competence and develop additional skills.
