Job summary

CareWell Health is hiring a Registered Echo Technologist to support the radiology team in East Orange, NJ. You will prepare equipment, position patients, and acquire high-quality echocardiography images while documenting findings and ensuring patient safety.

The role requires at least 1 year as a radiologic technologist with ARDMS/CCI certification preferred and BLS-CPR by AHA. This part-time position may require holidays and weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of radiologic technologist experience.
• Registration as Echo Technologist (ARDMS or CCI) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for examinations by verifying equipment and reviewing schedules.
• Explain procedures to reduce patient anxiety and assist during tests.
• Position patients and attach sensors/equipment for accurate imaging.
• Obtain and review high-quality echo images and measurements.
• Enter patient data and protect confidentiality.
• Maintain safety and hygiene protocols; participate in education opportunities.
• Be available for holidays, weekends and additional coverage as needed.

Job Summary

The Registered Echo Technologist will perform the duties of a staff technologist and provide assistance to the supervisor/manager.

Essential Functions

• Prepares for examinations by checking equipment and inventorying and restocking supplies; reviewing patient schedules; reading physician orders for specific examinations; setting-up recording equipment; entering patient information into system.
• Reduces patient anxieties by explaining procedures; answering questions; providing assistance to examination table or treadmill.
• Prepares patients by positioning patient; spreading gels; attaching electrodes to chest and equipment; adjusting equipment controls; verifying wave signals.
• Obtains quality images by positioning and repositioning transducer; monitoring display screen; listening to signals; adjusting equipment for beam strength and focus; detecting artifacts that mimic abnormalities; recording images.
• Records examination information by printing graphics and data; calculating measurements of heart wall, chamber size, and blood flow direction and velocity; comparing measurements to norms.
• Protects patients by adhering to safety policies and protocols.
• Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential; cautioning others regarding potential breaches.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
• Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

Minimum Education/Certifications

Certification

Registered Echo Technologist with either ARDMS or CCI preferred.

The salary/hourly rate range for this position is:$35/hr-$38/hr
