Job summary

CareWell Health is seeking an Emergency Room Technician to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a nurse. You will handle specimen collection, phlebotomy, EKGs, splinting, wound care, and assist with patient transport and routine tasks. The role supports a fast-paced ER team with emphasis on confidentiality and quality care.

You will also document procedures, assist with treatments, and be flexible to alongside nursing staff while maintaining HIPAA standards.

Job description

Job Summary

The Emergency Room Technician provides direct, basic patient care activities under the guidance and direction of a Registered, Practical LPN Nurse. Handles the care and cleaning of specific equipment, stocking of supplies and equipment. ER Tech assists with transportation of patients, supplies and equipment.

Essential Functions

• Accountable for collection of test specimens as directed according to established procedures and documents.

• Technician performs phlebotomy, EKGs, splinting, Transport, wound care, simple dressing and other duties as required within the Emergency Room.

• Assists customers in a friendly, prompt, caring manner, always maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and respect.

• Be able to work as part of the care team to meet the needs of the customer and to support team objectives, assisting other team members when necessary.

• Compliant with HIPAA regulations at all times.

• Supported and promoted an environment that was conductive to quality customer service.

• Responded to every emergency situation according to hospital policy.

• Practiced flexibility by assuming the role of administrative assistant when needed.

• Properly documented all procedures as required and without error.

• Assisted nurses with patient treatments.

• Preformed daily duties of vital signs, patient turns, AM care, PM care charting, and other requested tasks.

Minimum Education/Certifications

High School Diploma or equivalent. One year experience required

Certifications required:

ERT Certification preferred

BLS-CPR required

Phlebotomy Certificate preferred

EKG Certificate preferred

Minimum Work Experience

One year experience preferred

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Must be willing to work holidays, weekends and provide additional coverage as needed

The salary/hourly rate range for this position is: $17.61 - $24.00
