Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks an Echo Technician to perform diagnostic cardiac exams under physician direction. This full-time role operates 40 hours across four 10-hour shifts, with rotating days off and on-call requirements at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital, Grand Junction, CO.

Responsibilities include exam preparation, scheduling, coordinating with staff, ensuring safety and quality, mentoring, and documenting results, while adhering to protocols and charge codes. Competitive hourly pay offered.

Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred from accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical competence for department protocols.
• Prioritize and schedule exams.
• Coordinate exams with medical staff, physician offices, other caregivers, and patients.
• Educate patient and family on procedure; prepare for the exam.
• Perform ultrasound exams consistent with related protocols and in a timely manner.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort and achieve quality outcomes.
• Identify patient needs and coordinate patient care with physicians and team.
• Return patient to room and ensure stability after exam.
• Mentor caregivers and students on equipment use and procedural technique.
• Document exam results and required information.
• Apply appropriate charge codes for exams and supplies.
• Clean and maintain equipment, work area, and stock supplies.
• Coordinate repair or supply needs through proper channels.
• Support quality improvement processes and initiatives.
• Participate in educational opportunities to develop skills.
