Job summary

FirstHealth of the Carolinas is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to join the Reid Heart Center. The Echo Tech will perform 2D/3D echocardiography, stress echo, and related imaging for both adults and children, using ICAEL-guided protocols.

You will collect and interpret clinical data, report urgent findings to reading physicians, and share rotating on-call duties. New grads are welcome; a formal ultrasound training and BLS certification are required.

Qualifications

• Associated degree or higher level.
• BLS certification required.
• Formal Training in Diagnostic Cardiac Ultrasound required.
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) required.
• New grads welcome; departmental screening and test conducted.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cardiac ultrasounds on adult and pediatric patients using 2D/3D echocardiography, m-mode, color Doppler, and other imaging modalities.
• Collect and evaluate clinical data and report life-threatening findings promptly to reading physicians.
• On rotation basis, handle on-call duties; at Hoke campus, on-call duties apply with experience.
• Adhere to department, ICAEL, and hospital policies.

Responsibilities

Echo Tech Responsibilities:

• Will be responsible forconducting cardiac ultrasounds on both adult and pediatric patients utilizing2D/3Dechocardiography, m-mode, color flow/dopplermapping, stress echocardiography, UEA imaging, Global Strain Analysis,TEEand structural heartassistwhen appropriate.
• Will be responsible forcollecting and evaluating clinical data and recognizing life-threatening findingsand reporting, in a timely manner,to the appropriate readingphysicians.
• On a rotating basis, is responsible for all on-call duties. For our Hoke campus (no on-call duties), you must have at least 1 year of experience.
• All functions of this role shall be performed within the guidelines of department, ICAEL and hospital policies.
