Job summary

Naples Comprehensive Health (NCH) is seeking an Echo Sonographer I Registered to perform transthoracic echocardiograms, document data, and support physician interpretation. Duties include charting, equipment prep, and adherence to infection control.

The role requires comprehensive knowledge of ultrasound equipment, quality reporting, and a collaborative approach with the imaging team. Responsibilities also cover operating the lab, data collection for PI objectives, and assisting in training

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must have completed an accredited CVT program, echocardiography program OR Associate’s degree with emphasis on natural science OR 10 years’ experience as a Registered Echo Sonographer.
• Must be registered under one of the following agencies: RDMS (Cardiology), RDCS, RCS.
• Must have demonstrated aptitude of computer and keyboard function with medical applications.
• Must have extensive knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology and pathology; ability to prioritize and work under stress.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from ARC or AHA.
• Intermediate computer knowledge: Word, Excel, Outlook, Windows.

Responsibilities

• Performs Transthoracic Echocardiogram 2-D and M-mode according to lab protocol.
• Measures and documents all M-Mode and Doppler studies.
• Performs routine Color, Pulse and Continuous Wave Doppler.
• Operates ultrasound machine and assists physician during TEE procedure.
• Cleans and disinfects TEE probes per policy.
• Performs Echocardiogram during exercise or pharmacological studies.
• Documents patient care activities and maintains patient log books and records.
• Participates in PI data collection and departmental case reviews.
• Floats between Downtown Campus and North Naples Campus as needed.
