Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health seeks a Chief Echo Tech to lead echo lab operations, balancing 60% scanning with 40% teaching and leadership. You will coordinate lab functions, spearhead research, and uphold ICAEL QA standards while advancing cardiac imaging across the network.

The role emphasizes mentorship of sonographers, development of QA measures, and collaboration with Medical Directors to elevate patient care and outcomes. A strong emphasis on lifelong learning and clinical excellence is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required with accreditation in Allied Health Cardiovascular Program.
• ARDMS or CCI Registration required; Advanced Cardiac Sonography credential desired.
• Minimum of 7 years of Adult Echo experience.
• Extensive experience in Structural Heart, stress echocardiography, and cardiac amyloid programs.
• Leadership experience in mentoring staff sonographers and implementing QA measures.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced echocardiographic studies with focus on Structural Heart and research.
• Assist Cardiologists with complex testing workflows and ensure QA before interpretation.
• Supervise and mentor staff sonographers to elevate scanning accuracy.
• Maintain ICAEL QA guidelines and drive department quality improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to research protocols, policies, and CME program development.
• Coordinate CME and sonography research projects to keep team skills at leading edge.
