Job summary

Nicklaus Children's Health System is seeking a Lead Echo Tech/Educator to provide clinical leadership, education, and quality assurance within the Heart Station. This role focuses on ensuring high standards of echocardiographic imaging, mentoring and training staff, and supporting the implementation of best practices to improve patient care.

The position requires extensive experience in echocardiography, strong training abilities, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to maintain

Qualifications

• Completion of a 2-4 year diagnostic ultrasound program from an accredited institution.
• ARDMS/RDCS or CCI certification must be active throughout employment.
• American Heart Association BLS certification must be active throughout employment.
• 7–10 years of echocardiography experience with a strong clinical background.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the go-to clinical expert for challenging echocardiographic cases, providing guidance and troubleshooting.
• Performs studies including pre-surgical and OR echo cases.
• Communicates effectively with interdisciplinary teams; shares information within timelines to aid outcomes.
• Evaluates staff competencies and performs QA on images and study accuracy.
• Develops and delivers training programs for sonographers to ensure proficiency in echocardiographic techniques and protocols.
• Oversees onboarding and orientation of new hires and collaborates with Heart Station Manager on staff recruitment and evaluation.
