Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an Echo Technologist to supervise technical procedures, patient care and workflows in the echocardiography laboratory. You will perform a full range of cardiac diagnostic testing and assist physicians and sonographers to deliver high-quality echocardiographic exams.

The role requires BLS certification within 30 days and ARDMS or CCI registration within 1 year, plus an associate degree in Sonography or equivalent healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
• ARDMS or CCI registration within 1 year - Varies
• Associate's Degree: Sonography
• Work Experience: Previous healthcare

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complex echocardiographic sonography imaging procedures following departmental guidelines.
• Demonstrates imaging quality by critiquing positioning, factors and alignment.
• Reviews patient data for accuracy and completeness; documents studies and charges; uses Epic and Xcelera systems.
• Cross-trains to other divisions of CV Services.
• Administers contrast when needed and not contraindicated.
• Is included in a rotation of call through the week and weekends with other team members.
• Performs all forms of Echo testing (Exercise Stress, Dobutamine, Echocardiograms, Pediatric echoes, Transesophageal echoes).
• Seeks to advance knowledge in all aspects of Echo through ongoing learning and teaching.
