Job summary

Indiana University Health System is seeking a PRN Cardiac Sonographer for night shifts (6:00pm-6:00am) to cover Fridays and additional PTO/call nights. The role focuses on performing and monitoring cardio-diagnostic tests, with emphasis on echocardiography and Doppler studies, for patients from pediatric to geriatric.

You will provide preliminary findings to physicians, operate and position equipment, and ensure patient care with compassion and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Must be eligible to sit for registry within 1 year (RDCS, RCS, ACS, RCCS).
• May require Indiana ISDH license if applicable.
• Pass written EKG interpretation exam with score >85%.
• Minimum of 1 year echocardiography experience preferred.

Job description

PRN Night Shift - Every Friday from 6:00pm-6:00am + other nights of the week covering PTO/Call-Ins.

Performs, administers & monitors Cardio-Diagnostic tests with primary emphasis on cardiac sonography and doppler studies. Administers all Cardio-Diagnostic tests. Provides physician with preliminary findings of recorded data through monitoring and performing the necessary calculations, in a timely fashion while demonstrating the appropriate knowledge and skills necessary to work with patients from pediatric through geriatric. Follows physician's instructions, prepares and operates equipment and positions patients correctly in order to record the requested diagnostic images. Treats patients with care and respect.

• Basic Life Support certification required. May also require Advanced Life Support certification, if applicable.
• Applicant must be eligible to sit for their registry at the time of hire and must successfully pass it within one year from start date through one ofthe following: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS): Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, RDCS; or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI): Registered Cardiac Sonographer, RCS, Advanced Cardiac Sonographer, ACS, or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer, RCCS.
• May be required to meet registry/certification requirements for another modality, if applicable.
• May require license from Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), if applicable.
• Pass written exam for Basic EKG interpretation with score >85% initially and repeat yearly.
• Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
• Minimum of one year of experience in Echocardiography, preferred.
