Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Cardiac Technologist to perform, administer and monitor Cardio-Diagnostic tests with emphasis on echocardiography and Doppler studies. You will work with physicians to provide preliminary findings and ensure accurate diagnostic imaging while caring for patients across the lifespan.

You will operate equipment, follow physician instructions, and position patients appropriately.

Qualifications

• Requires Basic Life Support (BLS); may require Advanced Life Support where applicable.
• Eligible to sit for ARDMS/CCI registry at hire and complete within one year: RDCS/Advanced/ACS/RCCS.
• May need to meet registry/certification requirements for another modality, if applicable.
• May require Indiana ISDH license if applicable.
• Pass written EKG interpretation exam with score >85% initially and yearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide physicians with preliminary findings and recorded data in a timely manner.
• Prepare and operate equipment; position patients correctly to obtain requested diagnostic images.

The Technologist would qualify for shift differentials!

Performs, administers & monitors Cardio-Diagnostic tests with primary emphasis on cardiac sonography and doppler studies. Administers all Cardio-Diagnostic tests. Provides physician with preliminary findings of recorded data through monitoring and performing the necessary calculations, in a timely fashion while demonstrating the appropriate knowledge and skills necessary to work with patients from pediatric through geriatric. Follows physician's instructions, prepares and operates equipment and positions patients correctly in order to record the requested diagnostic images. Treats patients with care and respect.

• Basic Life Support certification required. May also require Advanced Life Support certification, if applicable.
• Applicant must be eligible to sit for their registry at the time of hire and must successfully pass it within one year from start date through one of the following: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS): Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, RDCS; or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI): Registered Cardiac Sonographer, RCS, Advanced Cardiac Sonographer, ACS, or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer, RCCS.
• May be required to meet registry/certification requirements for another modality, if applicable.
• May require license from Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), if applicable.
• Pass written exam for Basic EKG interpretation with score >85% initially and repeat yearly.
• Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
• Minimum of one year of experience in Echocardiography, preferred.
