The Cardiac Monitor Technician role at University of California, Irvine (UCI) supports patient care by continuously observing cardiac rhythms and promptly notifying the RN or Physician of changes.

This position requires ECG certification by time of hire, at least one year of cardiac monitoring experience, and availability for weekends and rotating shifts, including evenings and nights. Basic Life Support is also required.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum one year experience monitoring cardiac activity.
• Electrocardiography (ECG) Certification by time of hire.
• Availability to work weekends and rotating shifts, including evenings, nights and holidays.

Aufgaben

• The Cardiac Monitor Technician provides continuous observation of the patients‘ cardiac rhythm. Identifies basic arrhythmias and provides prompt notification of changes/issues to the RN or Physician.
• Troubleshoots false alarms and system issues. Documents values and mounts rhythm strips according to unit standards.
• Will also provide continuous observation of the patients who are being monitored during special procedures.
